Most major carriers offer some form of driver-training discount that trims the premium on a young driver's policy, and what they ask for in return is consistent: documented proof that a new driver completed real behind-the-wheel training with a certified school. That proof is exactly what we issue after your sixth hour.

To be straight with you about how this works: the discount itself is set by your insurance company, not by us. Some insurers accept documented behind-the-wheel hours from a certified school; others tie the discount to a driver education course or stack it with a good-student grade discount, and the amounts vary by company. The smart move is to ask your agent one question before you book — "what proof do you need for the driver-training discount?" — then tell us what they said. The training behind the certificate is our 3-Lesson Package ($420) — the same structured six hours described on our 6-Hour Driver Ed page: three two-hour sessions with a PennDOT-certified instructor in a dual-control car, moving from core car control through intersections and busier roads to the skills the PennDOT road test actually scores. It's genuine training, not a rubber stamp — insurers ask for documented hours because trained teen drivers crash less, and the certificate is only as good as the hours behind it.

Most certificates we issue go to parents of teen drivers, and the timing usually works out neatly: the six hours count toward the 65 supervised hours Pennsylvania requires before a junior driver can take the road test, so the certificate rides along on training the family was going to do anyway. Adults qualify too — some insurers extend discounts or credits to any policyholder who completes certified training, including refresher lessons. Your agent knows your policy; we supply the proof.
