Terms & Conditions

Plain-English terms for booking and taking lessons with 1st Class Driving School (Apka Desi). By booking a lesson or using this website, you agree to them.

Last updated: August 9, 2026

1. Who we are

"We," "us," and "the school" mean 1st Class Driving School (also known as Apka Desi Driving School), 804 Monroe Dr, Harleysville, PA 19438, with a branch at 501 Washington Street, Reading, PA 19601. "You" means the student, or the parent or guardian booking on a student's behalf. Questions about these terms? Call (215) 740-2841 or email info@apkadesidrivingschool.com.

2. What we provide

We provide behind-the-wheel driving instruction with PennDOT-certified instructors, including new-driver lessons, road-test preparation, defensive driving, refresher lessons, and multilingual instruction in English, Hindi, Urdu, Bangla, and Arabic. Every lesson includes free door-to-door pickup and drop-off within our service area and use of our dual-control training car unless we agree otherwise.

3. Who can take lessons

  • You must hold a valid Pennsylvania learner's permit or driver's license (or the equivalent for your state) and bring it to every lesson. No permit, no lesson — Pennsylvania law gives us no discretion on this.
  • If your permit or license requires corrective lenses, you must wear them.
  • Students under 18 must have a parent or guardian book the lessons and agree to these terms on their behalf.
  • You must tell us about any medical condition that could affect your ability to drive safely, so we can plan your lessons appropriately.

4. Booking, prices and payment

  • You book by phone, WhatsApp, or the request form on our website. We agree the time and package with you personally, and your booking is confirmed once your payment is received — we confirm it by WhatsApp or text.
  • You can pay online by card through Stripe's secure checkout (we never see or store your card details — payment is processed entirely by Stripe under its own terms), by Zelle (to Mostafa Jamal at (215) 740-2841), or by cash arranged with us when we agree your slot. See the payment page for instructions.
  • Lessons cost $75 per hour with a two-hour minimum per session ($150 per lesson). Packages: 3 lessons $420, 5 lessons $650, 7 lessons $880.
  • For larger packages, ask about splitting payment across sessions. When paying by Zelle, include your name and lesson date in the memo so we can match your payment quickly.
  • Prices may change, but any lesson or package you have already booked and paid for is honored at the price you paid.
  • Package prices already include their discount, so packages are not refundable for the difference once lessons at the package rate have been taken; unused lessons are handled under section 5.

5. Cancellations, rescheduling and refunds

  • Life happens — you can reschedule any lesson free of charge with at least 24 hours' notice by calling or messaging us.
  • Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice, or not being available at the agreed pickup time and place, may be charged as a taken lesson. We're a small team, and a missed slot is an hour another student could have had.
  • If we cancel — for dangerous weather, vehicle issues, or instructor illness — you lose nothing: the lesson is rescheduled at no cost, or refunded if you prefer.
  • Prepaid lessons you have not yet taken are refundable if you decide not to continue; completed lessons are charged at the standard hourly rate rather than the package rate when that breaks a package's terms.

6. Pickup and drop-off

Free door-to-door pickup is included at any address within our service area — home, school, or work. Please be ready at the agreed time; your lesson starts at the scheduled time, and long waits may count toward it. If you need to change your pickup address, tell us before the day of the lesson.

7. During your lesson

  • Our training cars have dual controls, and the instructor is in charge of the vehicle's safety at all times. Follow their instructions.
  • We will end a lesson immediately, charged as taken, if a student arrives under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or behaves in a way that endangers anyone. This is rare, and we intend to keep it that way.
  • Seat belts are mandatory for everyone in the car, on every trip.
  • Family members are welcome to observe by arrangement, but only the student drives.

8. Using our car for your road test

Students can take the PennDOT road test in the same dual-control car they trained in. Test-day car use is subject to availability, so book it with us as soon as you have your test date. Our instructor accompanies the car to the test center; PennDOT's own rules govern the test itself.

9. No guarantee of a pass

Most of our students pass on the first try, and we will always be honest about whether you're ready. But only a PennDOT examiner decides road-test results, so no driving school can guarantee a pass — and you should be wary of any that does. Insurance-discount certificates are issued on completion of qualifying courses; whether and how your insurer applies the discount is up to them.

10. Our liability

Our vehicles are insured for driving instruction, and our instructors are PennDOT-certified. To the fullest extent permitted by Pennsylvania law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms or your lessons is limited to the amount you paid us for the services concerned, and we are not liable for indirect losses such as a missed test date's knock-on costs. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence — or affects rights that consumer-protection law grants you and that cannot be waived.

11. Personal belongings

Please don't leave valuables in the training car; we are not responsible for personal property left behind, though we will always do our best to return anything found.

12. This website

The content of this website — text, design, images, and the guides we've written — belongs to 1st Class Driving School and may not be copied for commercial use without permission. The site's information is provided in good faith and kept up to date, but road-test procedures and PennDOT rules can change; always confirm official requirements with PennDOT. Links to third-party sites are provided for convenience, and we are not responsible for their content. Your privacy on this site is covered by our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Any dispute that we cannot resolve together informally — and we will always try that first — belongs to the state or federal courts serving Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

14. Changes and severability

We may update these terms from time to time; the version on this page, with its "Last updated" date, is the one in force, and changes never apply retroactively to lessons already booked. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
