Car for Road Test: how it works
PennDOT won't let you take the road test alone — you need a licensed accompanying driver and a vehicle with current registration, inspection and insurance. That combination is exactly what trips up new Pennsylvanians, students and newly arrived families. Our test-day car service solves both at once: a licensed instructor drives with you and our lesson car meets every PennDOT vehicle requirement.
A test-day slot is booked just like a lesson at $75 per hour with a two-hour minimum. Most students book exactly two hours ($150): we pick you up, run a warm-up drive covering the maneuvers examiners score, arrive at your PennDOT center with time to spare, and you take the test in our car. If you've been taking lessons with us, it's the same car you trained in — nothing about test day feels new.
We cover every PennDOT driver license center our students use — Bensalem, Norristown, King of Prussia, Malvern, Dublin, Reading and the Philadelphia centers — and we know the routes around each one, so the warm-up happens on the kinds of roads the examiner will actually take you on.

Common questions
Do I need my own car insurance to use your car? +
No. Our car carries the registration, inspection and insurance PennDOT requires. You just bring your learner's permit and your test appointment.
Do you book the road test appointment for me? +
The appointment itself is booked with PennDOT under your name, but we're happy to walk you through scheduling it and help you pick a center we know well.
Can I do this without taking lessons first? +
Yes, though we recommend at least one practice session so the car feels familiar. If you're not test-ready, we'll tell you honestly before you spend money on a test-day slot.
How much does it cost? +
